Krissy and Gary – Married : Bill Dempsey Elkins WV Wedding Photography

There are a lot of things you can never be sure about in life and on this day there were a lot of unknowns.  What would the weather be like? Will it rain?  Will we be able to find some open shade in the field to do pictures? Lots of questions that only time would answer.  One thing that we could be sure about was Krissy and Gary were in love.  The had simple and wonderful ceremony at Canaan.

Krissy’s dress hangs, waiting for its big moment.

Shoes resting on a bench.  The cabin that Krissy chose to get ready in was beautiful.

Weddings are always about the details. I’m not sure what it is about this picture, but it spoke to me.  It kind of sums up the day. Calm, tranquil and relaxed.  Krissy and Gary weren’t the least bit nervous.

Beautiful wedding cake for a beautiful couple:)  Butterflies were a big part of the theme.  It was really nice to see so many of them at Canaan while we were taking pictures.  Mother Nature was definitely on our side this day.

Krissy after getting ready.  She was worried it was going to rain, but she still managed to smile all day long.  This is the first of many smiles that day.  Krissy had a thought that she was a little nervous. I didn’t want to tell her, but she was just about as calm and had things well planned out as any bride we’ve ever met.  In fact, in three years of wedding photography, Krissy is the first bride to not only be ready on time, but early!

Check out Gary – sly and hanging out.  He looked sharp for his wedding day.  One of the biggest tricks of the day was to keep Gary from seeing Krissy.  Krissy stayed on the lower level of the Cabin while Gary staid on the top floor.  I’m happy to report that everything worked out well.

You wouldn’t believe how beautiful the ceremony was.  Mountains, haze and wonderful people.  Does it get any better than that? We don’t think so.

Sarah and Jason – Married : Bill Dempsey Elkins WV Wedding Photography

Congratulations to Sarah and Jason. We had a great time capturing your wedding yesterday and hope that you and your family have a wonderful life together. I’ve met a lot of calm grooms before, but Jason takes the cake. He was cool and collected all day long. If he weren’t wearing a suit, you’d never known he was getting married.  I dig the purple shirt:)

Sarah was absolutely glowing. You could just feel how excited she was about getting married to Jason.  Her purple shoes were awesome!

A pre-wedding good luck kiss from Sarah’s son.

The ceremony was simple and elegant.

Sarah, Jason and the kids shared a moment lighting a unity candle together for their new family.  Sarah’s daughter lights her family unity candle:

Gabrielle Turns 1 : Elkins WV Wedding Photographer Bill Dempsey : iDempsey Photography

Ok, I’ve been a BAD blogger. I haven’t updated in quite awhile. Honestly, I’ve been sick.  A lot.    I *Never* get sick, but for some reason, this winter has worked me over. There have been some great things going on and I’m sorry I haven’t blogged them. Lots of good Seniors this year. They just keep getting better and better!  We’ve partnered with Davis Memorial Hospital to provide newborn photographs!  And most importantly, my little girl has turned —- 1 — .  Is that not insane???  To celebrate, here is Ms. Gabrielle and all of her glory!

Rob and Robin – Married : Elkins, WV Wedding Photographer

As a wedding photographer one of the things you learn to spot is love. I could tell by the way Robin and Rob looked at each other that they were truly in love. When Robin asked me to take pictures at her wedding, I melted. I was completely happy for Rob and Robin and honored to be at their wedding.

We started with some detail shots. The bridesmaids carried lanterns rather than the traditional bouquet. I loved this idea. Simply beautiful.

Robin’s dress. It was perfect for her.

And the ceremony begins. Short, simple and heartfelt.

First kiss of many as Mr. and Mrs. Thompson

Happily married.

And let the celebration begin! First dance.

Rob and his mother dancing. A Picture doesn’t do this moment justice.

I love the look on Rob’s face here. I can almost read his mind : “Bobbie, what the heck are you doing?”. heheh.

Ringing in the new year as Mr. and Mrs. Thompson. I can’t think of a better way to start 2011.

Congratulations Robin and Rob. You two deserve all the happiness in the world. Good luck, and thanks for letting us be a part of your special day.

Dawn and Adam – Married : Bill Dempsey Elkins WV Wedding Photographer

First off, I have to apologize. It looks like our website host had a hard drive crash of some sorts. We’ve been having trouble with email, and some blog posts disappearing. Everything seems back to normal now, so I guess it’s time for me to re-add some posts. Thank goodness for google-cache. I found my blog posts, word for word there. For every skill point I have with a camera, I have a -1 for writing. Hopefully none of you work for the grammar police:)

So here we are. Our last wedding of the season, and it’s bittersweet. Sad because our next wedding isn’t until next year and happy for these two: Dawn and Adam.

We started at Hair Studio, where Dawn’s mother-in-law readied Dawn’s hair. Dawn easily wins the “Bride is on time” award for this year. The day was relaxed and fun. Everything went off without a hitch and on time:)

Dan Getting Ready

The icing on the cake was that everything was perfect. The location, the details and well… everything. Everything was so well thought out and planned. It was just one of those days where all was aligned well in the universe:)
Some details

Dawn: Doesn’t she look happy? I loved her dress and how the green accents tied everything together. It’s like it was made for the church. Check out those stained glass windows in the background.

Dawn and the Gals – a lovely and supportive bunch of girls.

The gals

I’m not sure how Adam did it, be he managed to stay calm and collected. There were a couple of parts of the ceremony that I would have lost it, like when Dawn was looking into his eyes, and she started crying. WOW. I love weddings like this. So much emotion. That’s what it’s all about. Pure happiness.
The Man
Oh yeah

Adam’s groomsmen were off the hook. Don’t let them fool you here… They were a lively bunch.
The guys

The ceremony was a no-flash event and that turned out to be just fine. The lighting inside the church was warm and natural.

After the ceremony, we followed the crew to the Elks. It was a great time, and there was some good karaoke:) Dawn and Adam’s first dance as a married couple:

Again, I apologize for the crash we appeared to have had. If anyone has emailed us @idempsey and haven’t heard back from us, you may want to drop us an email again.
Dawn and Adam – It was a lot of fun. The holidays slowed us down a little, but we should have your pictures to you shortly!
