First off, many of you don’t know, but Melanie’s father was diagnosed with a severe form of brain cancer mid-last year.  At the onslaught Melanie began to spent as much time with her father as she possibly could.  This understandably threw me behind. I ended up taking over a lot of Melanie’s responsibilitys and became really backed up.  Right now, we are running about 4 months behind on album design and a couple of days on orders.  We know it’s unacceptable to you, and frankly, it’s unacceptable to us.  On the bright side,   I’m happy to report that currently Melanie’s father is doing really well.

Secondly, we finally got moved.  This has to be the single most tramautic event of my life.  During the move we were homeless for a day, suffered a studio breakin (If you see someone running around with a canon 5d Mark II and 85 1.2 with a celctic neckstrap, shoot me an email), and emotionally drained.  In the end, it was completely worth it. We are currently in Valley Bend (still serving Elkins though) .  We have 20 acres of land to shoot outdoor portraits and lots of studio space to do inside shoots.  On of the most stressful things has been trying to get internet.  We actually managed to survive *3* months without it. How, I don’t know., but I’m happy to report that we now have internet!  YAY!

Our little girl has grown up so fast.  We will  be celebrating the big number “2″ in March. Time flies by so fast. Every day is a new adventure with her.

 Even though I have been bad about posting previews, we’ve still ben really busy.  We’ve done a couple of weddings, several seniors,  a maternity session and some familys.  We’ve also ben kept busy with a steady stream of newborns from Davis Memorial Hospital.  For those of you interested, we are doing newborn services for the OB department.  We give back 30% of everything you spend to the OB floor.

 I’ve had a lot of wedding inquiries lately. Unfortunately, we are booked until August. After August we have a couple of dates open, but you will need to act fast!  We only take a select number of weddings per season, and we are almost there.

So what’s been going on with Bill? Well, I’ve been keeping busy as you can imagine. I have lost my zest for facebook and twitter.. I’m mostly over the entire social media thing.  I’ve started coding again, doing a little bit of ipad (IOS) development in my spare time, which I don’t have a lot of.  Other than that, nothing super exciting to speak of.

So to all of our loyal customers in 2011, thank you, and for the new ones in 2012 : Welcome aboard!  We are glad to have you as part of our family!

And I can’t beleive I have to say this, but as a photographer, I own the rights to all of my work. Be it photographs or logs.  So if you are another photographer, and you’ve used a logo I’ve created or photograph in any of your works, your violating the copyright law.  Enough said.

So lets get started with Erin and Mark’s wedding. Erin = Beautiful.  Mark = Beautiful. Wedding = Beautiful.  All of that made for a perfect day.  So lets start with some detail shots.

Out of all of the things I loved about Erin and Mark’s wedding, I think I loved Erin’s dress the most.  It suited her and was beautiful.

The thing I will remember most about Erin’s father? He was always smiling.  In every picture I have of him, he’s all smiles.  He was so happy for his daughter.

We’ve done some sessions up at Scott Hill before but this was our first wedding there. Perfect! Brides to be, if you are looking for a venue, look no further.  I could have shot there all day long.

Josh, our groom was so humble.  If I could work with one groom over and over again, it would be Josh. He made sure things got done, but was so chill about everything.

The groomsmen on the other hand, were off the hook   I’m not sure how Josh managed to keep them in line, but he did!

The wedding was beautiful. I just love weddings at D&E.  I’ve actually thought of only doing weddings at D&E. That’s how much I love weddings there.

I can’t begin to tell you how much we loved the gals. The were so fun and down to earth.  Katie was surrounded by true friends on  her wedding day.

Ray was pretty calm, but not as calm as Katie.  He was ready to marry his love on this fine day!

Ray’s groomsmen were off the hook. That’s about all I can say about that   They’d probably like me to mention a fraternity party from back in the day, but I won’t do that. *wink* *wink* Ray

I’ll start this entry with a detail shot.  This is an old family bible that has been around for generations.  If Jessica and Tim’s love holds up as well as this bible, they don’t have anything to worry about.

Jessica glowed the entire day.  Her happiness radiated every room she entered. She was stunning and I don’t think I got a bad picture of her all day long.  Here she is getting ready

The bridesmaids were a great group of gals.  I’m not sure if Jessica could have picked a better supporting cast   They were all helpful and friendly and everything went of without a hitch.

Weddings are always about the details. I’m not sure what it is about this picture, but it spoke to me.  It kind of sums up the day. Calm, tranquil and relaxed.  Krissy and Gary weren’t the least bit nervous.

Beautiful wedding cake for a beautiful couple   Butterflies were a big part of the theme.  It was really nice to see so many of them at Canaan while we were taking pictures.  Mother Nature was definitely on our side this day.

Krissy after getting ready.  She was worried it was going to rain, but she still managed to smile all day long.  This is the first of many smiles that day.  Krissy had a thought that she was a little nervous. I didn’t want to tell her, but she was just about as calm and had things well planned out as any bride we’ve ever met.  In fact, in three years of wedding photography, Krissy is the first bride to not only be ready on time, but early!

Check out Gary – sly and hanging out.  He looked sharp for his wedding day.  One of the biggest tricks of the day was to keep Gary from seeing Krissy.  Krissy stayed on the lower level of the Cabin while Gary staid on the top floor.  I’m happy to report that everything worked out well.

So here we are. Our last wedding of the season, and it’s bittersweet. Sad because our next wedding isn’t until next year and happy for these two: Dawn and Adam.

We started at Hair Studio, where Dawn’s mother-in-law readied Dawn’s hair. Dawn easily wins the “Bride is on time” award for this year. The day was relaxed and fun. Everything went off without a hitch and on time:)

The icing on the cake was that everything was perfect. The location, the details and well… everything. Everything was so well thought out and planned. It was just one of those days where all was aligned well in the universe

Dawn: Doesn’t she look happy? I loved her dress and how the green accents tied everything together. It’s like it was made for the church. Check out those stained glass windows in the background.

I’m not sure how Adam did it, be he managed to stay calm and collected. There were a couple of parts of the ceremony that I would have lost it, like when Dawn was looking into his eyes, and she started crying. WOW. I love weddings like this. So much emotion. That’s what it’s all about. Pure happiness.

Adam’s groomsmen were off the hook. Don’t let them fool you here… They were a lively bunch.

The ceremony was a no-flash event and that turned out to be just fine. The lighting inside the church was warm and natural.

After the ceremony, we followed the crew to the Elks. It was a great time, and there was some good karaoke:) Dawn and Adam’s first dance as a married couple:
